Ambassadors for Trondheim take to the road together

The Trondheim Soloists and innovative tie designers Sptzbrgn have began a long term partnership where the orchestra will wear Sptzbrgn's national costume inspired ties at their concerts. Beginning in December, the Trondheim Soloists will make a 5 date tour of Switzerland and Germany (including concerts in Berlin and Cologne) before a busy pre-Christmas schedule sees the orchestra give their annual Christmas concert at Vang Church (which will be televised on both Norwegian Television and Public Broadcasting Service in the USA). Fittingly the final concert of the year will have the orchestra perform in the Svalbard Archipelago on the Island of Spitzbergen.

The Trondheim Soloists are now well established as being one of Norway's most dynamic young ensembles performing on the international stage. This three times Grammy nominated orchestra has quickly established itself as one of the most innovative chamber ensemble in Norway.
Tradition meets innovation in Sptzbrgn's national costume inspired ties. Using elements of embroidery from some of Norway's most known and well loved traditional costumes, these ties are hand embroidered and sewn using Norwegian wool in their manufacture. This unique blend of tradition and innovation is an ideal that is at the heart of the work of the Trondheim Soloists.
Speaking about this new partnership, Øyvind Gimse Artistic Director of the Trondheim Soloists says:
'This is an exciting and new departure for the Trondheim Soloists. Being both from Trondheim we have admired and been aware of the work of Sptzbrgn for some time and feel their product and design concept beautifully matches our own profile of finding inspiration through our traditions'.
